This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of East Arkansas...
the Missouri Bootheel...North Mississippi...and West Tennessee.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Heat indices will reach or exceed 105 degrees over east Arkansas,
the Missouri bootheel, west Tennessee and northwest Mississippi.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Afternoon heat indices will prevail above 105 degrees across the
Midsouth through Friday. Some locations along and west of the
Mississippi River, including the Memphis metro area, will likely
experience dangerous heat indices of 110 to 114 degrees during
the mid to late portions of this week.

Spotter activation is not anticipated at this time.

SHORTTERM FORECAST Issue Date: 327 AM CDT Mon Jul 4 2022  
...HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 9 PM CDT
THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values at or above 105 degrees.

* WHERE...Portions of North Mississippi, West Tennessee, East
Arkansas and Missouri Bootheel Missouri.

* WHEN...From noon today to 9 PM CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses to occur.

* IMPACTS...The Heat Advisory will likely be upgraded to an
Excessive Heat Warning later this week, for locations where heat
indices in excess of 110 degrees are expected. Heat Advisories
and/or Excessive Heat Warnings will likely be extended through
Friday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.
