Ninde, VA Weather Warnings Issue Date: 808 PM EDT Sat Sep 23 2023 This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia. .DAY ONE...Tonight A Gale Warning is in in effect for the Chesapeake Bay and most adjoining estuaries north of Drum Point MD, and the tidal Potomac River from Key Bridge to Cobb Island MD. A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect for St. Mary`s County until 2 AM. Moderate to major tidal flooding is expected. Additionally, Coastal Flood Warnings are in effect for the shoreline of Washington DC, Arlington and the City of Alexandria, and Anne Arundel County for moderate tidal flooding. A Flood Watch for flash flooding is in effect for the I-95 corridor from Fredericksburg VA to Baltimore MD. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday The Flood Watch is in effect until 8 AM Sunday. Coastal Flood Warnings continue through early Sunday morning for the shoreline of Washington DC, Arlington and the City of Alexandria, and Anne Arundel County. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotters are encouraged to reports any coastal flooding tonight. Issue Date: 448 PM EDT Sat Sep 23 2023 ...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal flooding. * WHERE...Shoreline in Charles and King George Counties. * WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT Sunday, especially around the time of high tide. * IMPACTS...At 3.5 feet, water reaches yards near Cobb Island and docks near Dahlgren. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides two to two and a half feet above normal. The next high tide at Dahlgren is at 10:01 PM. The next high tide at Indian Head is at 2:55 AM. The next high tide at Goose Bay is at 11:01 PM. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Portions of Virginia, including the following areas, Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria, Central and Southeast Prince William/Manassas/Manassas Park, Fairfax, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford. * WHEN...From 8 PM EDT this evening through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - As the center of Tropical Storm Ophelia moves north along or near the Interstate 95 corridor, it will produce an area of enhanced rainfall. This is expected to result in 2 to 3 inches of rain, with high end amounts of 4 inches possible.
