This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for North and Central Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Isolated showers and storms will be possible generally along and
north of Interstate 20 from late afternoon through this evening.
If storms were to develop, they would become strong to severe with
damaging winds and hail as the primary hazards.

Overnight, a complex of storms will move southeast out of Central and
eastern Oklahoma and toward Northeast Texas. The western extent of
these storms would likely would extend into eastern North Texas,
particularly east of Sherman to Sulphur Springs line. Very gusty
outflow winds, hail, and locally heavy rainfall are expected to be
the primary hazards.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop
along and ahead of a cold front moving southeastward through the
region Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.

Some of these storms could become strong to severe with damaging
winds and hail the main threats. Locally heavy rainfall may lead to
isolated flash flooding, especially over areas that have seen recent
rainfall.

Additional thunderstorm development is possible across Central Texas
Monday before the cold front exits the region. A few of these storms
may become strong to marginally severe. The main threats will be
hail and strong wind gusts.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM CDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values 104 to 109 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and south central Texas.

* WHEN...From noon today to 7 PM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity will increase the
risk for heat-related illnesses to occur, particularly for those
working or participating in outdoor activities.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
