This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for South-Central Texas..

.DAY ONE...Today And Tonight.

There is a slight risk of severe storms over an area along and
north of a Kerrville to Austin line. South of the slight risk
area, a marginal risk for severe storms extends to near Uvalde and
Cuero. Damaging winds and large hail are the primary severe
concerns. There is also a marginal risk of excessive rainfall over
the eastern two thirds of South Central Texas.

Clusters of strong to severe storms are expected to form over
parts of North Central Texas this afternoon and spread south
across the eastern two-thirds of South Central Texas late this
afternoon through tonight. Ahead of this activity, hot
temperatures and high humidity will result in heat index values in
the 105 to 110 degree range this afternoon. A Heat Advisory is in
effect generally along and east of I-35 this afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Locally heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and hail will remain
possible in thunderstorms Monday into Monday night. No other
hazardous weather is expected at this time.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM CDT
THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 110 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of South Central Texas along and east of I-35
and including Uvalde County.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high heat indices may cause
heat illnesses to occur.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
