.NOW... At 11:13 AM...Doppler radars detected scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms ongoing across eastern Oklahoma, with the leading edge moving into northwest Arkansas. This activity continues to move off toward the northeast at around 30 mph. Through 1:15 PM...Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue across the area, impacting locations during this time primarily north o f an Ada to McAlester to Fort Chaffee line. Light showers will remain common, resulting in average hourly rainfall of up to one tenth of an inch. Locally higher amounts to around one half inch are possible with thunderstorms.

FLASH FLOOD. RISK...Limited. AREA...Northeast Oklahoma. ONSET...Tonight. HEAVY RAIN. RISK...Limited. AREA...Northeastern Oklahoma. ONSET...Mainly tonight. THUNDERSTORMS WITH DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. RISK...Elevated. AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. ONSET...This afternoon into Tonight. DISCUSSION... Scattered showers with a few thunderstorms will be possible across eastern Oklahoma, mainly this afternoon. Stronger storms with the potential for heavy rainfall will likely spread into northeast Oklahoma late tonight. The highest rainfall amounts are expected north of I-44 and west of Highway 75. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday. TUESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Heavy Rain Potential. WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. THURSDAY AND FRIDAY...No Hazards. SATURDAY AND SUNDAY...High Wind Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall will likely be ongoing Tuesday morning across northeast Oklahoma. This activity is expected to spread across the remainder of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas Tuesday into Tuesday night. Widespread 1 to 2 inch rainfall amounts are expected with locally higher totals. Localized flooding will be possible with any storms that move over the same areas. The heavy rainfall threat will begin to shift east Wednesday morning as a cold front sweeps through the area. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLANNING STATEMENT... Continue to monitor the latest forecast today and Tuesday. A flood watch may be needed in some areas for both flash flooding and main- stem river flooding.
