ONSET...Ongoing. HEAVY RAIN. RISK...Significant. AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. ONSET...Ongoing. AREA AT GREATEST RISK...Northeast Oklahoma. DISCUSSION... Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas through tonight. Heavy rain and flash flooding will the main concern across northeast Oklahoma where 1 to 5 inches of rain have already fallen over the past 24 hours. An additional 1 to 4 inches of rain will be common across all of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas through tonight with locally higher amounts possible. This could lead to flooding of low lying areas. In addition to the heavy rainfall, severe weather will also be possible this afternoon and evening across southeast Oklahoma. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main concern. However, there will be a low potential for tornadoes as well. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... These thunderstorms are expected to remain below severe levels and the potential for heavy rain will diminish on Wednesday.
