This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as much of Eastern Oklahoma. .DAY ONE...Tonight. THUNDERSTORMS WITH DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. RISK...Limited. AREA...Far Southeast Oklahoma into Western Arkansas. ONSET...Ongoing. DISCUSSION... Scattered showers with a rumble or two of thunder remain possible through this evening and overnight mainly across portions of northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas as the upper low that has been affecting the area slowly lifts northeast. Rainfall amounts will be fairly light with this activity with the occasional brief moderate downpour possible. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. THURSDAY...High Wind Potential. FRIDAY...No Hazards. SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...High Wind Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Scattered showers are expected to linger around the area Thursday morning in the wake of the slowly exiting upper low, with the best chances being across northeastern Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas. The pattern will become much quieter as this system exits the region late in the day tomorrow. Upper level ridging is expected to build in over the weekend with clearing skies and warming temperatures expected for the Memorial Day Holiday. Winds will become gusty out of the south, especially by Saturday into early next week, with gusts near 30 mph at times each afternoon.
