This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east central...south central and southeast Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Showers and thunderstorms are expected across the entire area today, with the main threats being torrential rainfall, wind gusts to 50 mph, small hail, and cloud to ground lightning. As moisture continues to increase across the area, periods of heavy rain and excessive rainfall will become a increasing concern starting on today, and persisting through the weekend. Burn scars, urban areas, and any basins that are saturated from previous rainfall will be especially susceptible to torrential rain and potential flash flooding. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday Daily afternoon and evening thunderstorms will persist through the weekend and into early next week. Heavy rain and lightning will be the most common associated hazards from these storms. Cooler temperatures will suppress severe thunderstorm potential. However, increased moisture and slow-moving storms will enhance the flooding potential mainly for Saturday through Monday for urban areas, burn scars, or localized areas that have received repeated rounds of rainfall. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be possible over portions of the region.
