This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
Windy conditions can be expected over some of the mountains and
portions of the southeast plains, mainly from El Paso County,
southeastward across the far southeast plains. Wind gusts of 50 mph
or higher are expected later this morning and through at least
midafternoon. The strong northerly winds will create hazardous
driving conditions, especially for high profile vehicles, on east to
west oriented roadways.
High fire danger is expected today due to strong winds and low
humidities, and a Red Flag Warning is in effect for southern El
Paso, Pueblo, Crowley, Kiowa, Bent, Prowers and Baca Counties.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday
A few snow showers will be possible along the Continental Divide
Saturday and Saturday night. A few snow showers may also be
possible over the Eastern Mountains Saturday afternoon and
evening. Snow accumulations will be minor at an inch or two.
Another upper storm system will be possible from Monday into
Tuesday. Periods of moderate snow are expected over the Mountains.
Snow may also be possible out onto the Eastern Plains Monday
evening. Periods of snow will remain possible through the middle
of the week, mainly over the San Juan Range.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be
possible today mainly Kiowa, Bent, Prowers and Baca Counties.

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST TODAY...
* WHAT...Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 65 mph
expected.
* WHERE...Kiowa, Bent, Baca, Prowers Counties.
* WHEN...Until 5 PM MST this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.
Power outages will be possible. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
People should avoid being outside around trees and branches. Use
caution if you must drive, the high winds will be a hazard to high
profile vehicles traveling on east to west oriented roadways.
