This hazardous weather outlook is for South Florida.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
Rip currents: There is a slight risk of rip currents along the
Atlantic beaches of South Florida today.
Thunderstorms: Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are possible
today, mainly over the interior and portions of Southwest Florida
this afternoon. The primary impacts will be lightning strikes, gusty
winds, and brief heavy downpours.
Wind: Stronger thunderstorms this afternoon and evening will be
capable of producing wind gusts of 45 mph or greater, mainly over the
interior and portions of Southwest Florida.
Flooding: Heavy rainfall from thunderstorms today could lead to minor
urban flooding of roadways and low-lying poorly drained areas, mainly
over portions of Southwest Florida.
Temperatures: Heat index values over portions of Southwest Florida
will reach into the mid 100s today. Other parts of South Florida
will have heat index values in the 100s this afternoon.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will favor the interior and Gulf
Coast areas into early next week. Primary concerns will be
occasional lightning strikes, gusty winds, and brief periods of heavy
