This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southeast
Minnesota...northeast Iowa and southwest into central Wisconsin.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
A Heat Advisory is in effect until early evening for most of the
area along and south of Interstate 94. Expect afternoon heat
indices to range from 95 to 105.
Scattered thunderstorms will be possible tonight. A few of these
could be strong with some hail, gusty winds and locally heavy
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday
Thunderstorms are expected across the area Thursday and Thursday
evening. Some of these could be strong to locally severe with
hail, gusty winds and locally heavy rain the main threats.
More thunderstorms will be possible Saturday through Sunday and
again from Monday night into Tuesday. Organized severe weather is

* WHAT...Heat index values of 95 to 105 expected.
* WHERE...Portions of central, southwest and west central
Wisconsin, north central and northeast Iowa and southeast
* WHEN...From 11 AM to 7 PM CDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses to occur. Take necessary precautions to prevent heat
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
