This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Illinois, east
central Illinois and southeast Illinois.
.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon through this
evening. Some of the storms could be strong to severe with hail up to
1 inch and gusty winds up to 60 mph possible. A few, brief tornadoes
are also possible.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
Scattered thunderstorms will continue through Friday, as a weather
system slowly moves through the region. Some of the storms could be
strong to severe with hail up to 1 inch and gusty winds up to 60 mph
possible. Tornadoes are not expected at this time. Rainfall amounts
of one half to 1.5 inches could cause ponding of low lying or poor
Lingering flooding on the Little Wabash River near Clay City is
expected to subside by tonight, though there is potential for heavy
rain to extend the flooding later into the week.
