The primary risks are lightning and heavy rainfall. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY A cold front will move through the area Thursday and Friday, and will bring a renewed risk of severe thunderstorms to the area Thursday night over mainly eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois, and again Friday afternoon and evening for areas mainly along and east of the Mississippi River.
