FLASH FLOOD WATCH

Issue Date: 334 PM CDT Sat Jun 15 2019
Expiration: 0500 GMT 16 2019
...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING... The Flash Flood Watch continues for * Portions of central Illinois, east central Illinois, southeast Illinois, and west central Illinois, including the following areas, in central Illinois, Christian, De Witt, Logan, Macon, Mason, Menard, Piatt, Sangamon, and Shelby. In east central Illinois, Champaign, Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Moultrie, and Vermilion. In southeast Illinois, Crawford, Effingham, and Jasper. In west central Illinois, Cass, Morgan, and Scott. * Through Sunday morning * Additional showers and thunderstorms are expected this evening and tonight across the area with moderate to at times heavy rain. This morning 1 to locally 3 inches of rain fell across portions of the area resulting in saturated soil conditions. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected by Sunday morning, with locally higher amounts possible, especially along and south of I-72. * Heavy rainfall may result in flooding of low lying or poor drainage areas, and ultimately dangerous flash flooding on smaller creeks and streams. Additional rises on larger streams and rivers will also be possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. Never drive across a flooded road. &&
