...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of Southeast Indiana, Northern Kentucky and
Southwest Ohio, including the following counties, in Southeast
Indiana, Dearborn, Ohio, Ripley and Switzerland. In Northern
Kentucky, Boone, Campbell and Kenton. In Southwest Ohio, Hamilton.
* WHEN...Until 800 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 330 AM EDT, radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms was moving into the advisory area. Minor
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the
advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen
from previous rainfall yesterday evening. Additional rainfall
amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Cincinnati, Covington, Florence, Independence, Norwood,
Erlanger, Fort Thomas, Newport, Sharonville, Blue Ash,
Loveland, Reading, Montgomery, North College Hill, Madeira,
Edgewood, Elsmere, Wyoming, Cheviot and Fort Mitchell.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
