This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight There is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms later today and tonight, mainly along and north of the Ohio River. There is a limited hail and wind hazard, and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out, should a severe storm develop. Heavy rains commence tonight as well, beginning a flooding hazard. Refer to the Flood Watch for details. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday There is a chance of severe thunderstorms across the entire region late Friday afternoon and evening. This includes an enhanced risk of severe storms over far southeast Missouri and southwest Kentucky. Damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes are potential hazards with any strong to severe storms that develop. Accumulating heavy rainfall will continue as a hazard as well. Refer to the Flood Watch for those details. Gusty gradient winds outside thunderstorms may reach upwards to 40 mph Friday night and may still be gusting close to 35 mph into the day Saturday as well. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotters should maintain alert status for potential activation from later today through Friday night.

Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Forecast rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected across the Watch area. Locally higher totals to 5 inches are possible, especially where thunderstorms occur or repeat over the same areas. These amounts may lead to flooding of creeks, streams, and roads.
