This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of southeast Michigan. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight There is a conditional threat for severe thunderstorms late this afternoon through tonight. Bulk of the northern and western portions of SE MI are under a slight risk with the easternmost counties under a marginal risk. Main area of uncertainty is the capping will be sufficient to prevent thunderstorm development early this evening particularly over the Tri-Cities area. Additional storms possible late evening into tonight ahead of an approaching cold front. Main hazards will be severe winds gusts up to 60-70mph with hail up to around 1 inch and heavy rain being the main secondary hazards. An isolated tornado can`t be ruled out if convection develops early this evening with potential decreasing as the evening progresses. Storm motion expected to be approximately east at 60mph. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday There is a marginal risk of a severe thunderstorm south of I-69 daytime Saturday. Main hazards would be damaging wind gusts and heavy rain with small hail being the secondary hazard. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is unlikely.
