This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
.DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight
High water levels continue in the Rainy River Basin over far
northern Minnesota, with minor flooding along the Mississippi
River near Aitkin. Flood Warnings remain in effect for these
areas.
Some strong storms are possible late tonight, mainly over west to
southwest portions of the Northland including the Brainerd Lakes,
Aitkin, Grand Rapids, Walker, and Bigfork areas.
Areas of fog will occur near Lake Superior this afternoon then
expand in coverage tonight further inland. The visibility will
drop to a quarter mile or less at times.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday
There will be periodic chances for thunderstorms this weekend
into next week. Strong to severe storms are expected Sunday and
Monday, most likely in the afternoon into the late evening.
Damaging wind, hail, tornadoes, and flash flooding are all
possible.
Areas of dense fog will be possible Sunday morning, especially
around Lake Superior.
Water levels will remain high across many of the Northland`s
rivers, creeks, and streams, especially in the Rainy River Basin
and the Mississippi River Basin.
