The Flash Flood Watch continues for * portions of Illinois and Missouri...including the following counties...in Illinois...Bond IL...Clinton IL...Fayette IL... Madison IL...Marion IL...Monroe IL...Randolph IL...Saint Clair IL and Washington IL. In Missouri...Cole MO...Crawford MO... Franklin MO...Gasconade MO...Iron MO...Jefferson MO...Madison MO...Moniteau MO...Osage MO...Reynolds MO...Saint Charles MO... Saint Francois MO...Saint Louis City MO...Saint Louis MO... Sainte Genevieve MO...Warren MO and Washington MO. * until 1 AM CDT Tuesday * Thunderstorms capable of producing very heavy rainfall in a short period of time are expected to move across the region, mainly along and south of Interstate 70, through this evening. One to three inches of rainfall over already wet ground will likely produce flash flooding. * Heavy rainfall will result in flooding of low lying or poor drainage areas...and ultimately dangerous flash flooding on smaller creeks and streams. Additional rises on larger streams and rivers will also be possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch is advanced notice that conditions are favorable that may lead to flash flooding. Heavy rainfall may produce flash flooding for areas along and south of Interstate 70 through late this evening. Refer to the flash flood watch for more information. Major river flooding is forecast to continue along parts of the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers as well as the lower Meramec and Cuivre Rivers. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday. Thunderstorms remain possible across parts of the area each day through next Sunday. A few of the storms on Wednesday into Wednesday night may become severe.
