...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Paducah has expanded the
* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of southern Illinois and
southeast Missouri, including the following counties, Alexander,
Gallatin, Jackson, Johnson, Saline, Union, Williamson,
Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Perry MO, Ripley,
Scott, Stoddard, and Wayne MO.
* Through Tuesday evening.
* Scattered thunderstorms will produce localized heavy rainfall
* Significant flash flooding could occur in those areas hit hard
with heavy rainfall Sunday.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Be especially cautious at night, when rising flood waters may be
harder to detect. And remember...never drive across a flooded
roadway. Turn around, don`t drown!
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
While an isolated strong storm cannot necessarily be ruled out,
thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are the primary forecast
hazard. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for northern portions of
southern Illinois and southwest Indiana. The Watch is along and
north of a line from Du Quoin, Illinois to Rockport, Indiana.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday
Strong to potentially severe thunderstorms are forecast Wednesday
afternoon and evening. Damaging winds, including isolated
tornadoes, will be the primary severe storm hazards.
Storm chances wane Wednesday night and Thursday, before picking
up again Friday into the weekend. The better such chances will
hold off until the latter half of the weekend, with the primary
storm related hazards including heavy rain and lightning.
