This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight. Weather hazards expected... Limited hail risk. Limited thunderstorm wind damage risk. Elevated lightning risk. Limited excessive rainfall risk Limited non thunderstorm wind risk. DISCUSSION... Showers and thunderstorms will continue this afternoon and evening, especially along and south of the Interstate 44 corridor. Small hail, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall are possible. A few severe storms will be possible in southcentral Missouri, closer to the West Plains area. Large hail up to the size of quarters and damaging winds will be possible there. Minor flooding of low water crossings, creeks and rivers is possible this afternoon and evening. Gusty north winds up to 30 mph will be possible this evening into the early overnight hours. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. Additional showers and thunderstorms are expected starting Monday and lasting off and on through mid week. Prolonged periods of rain could lead to a flooding risk. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... ...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Missouri, including the following counties, Barry, Dade, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton and Polk. * WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 147 PM CDT, The Department of Transportation reported flooding from previous heavy rain in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following low water crossings... Sons Creek at County Road 113, Center Creek at Azalea Drive, North Indian Creek at Orchid Drive, Big Sugar Creek at Buzzard Glory Road and Little Sugar Creek at Skaggs Hollow Road. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Southern Joplin, Neosho, Monett, Aurora, Mount Vernon, Greenfield, Pineville and Galena. - PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads.
