This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of southeast Arkansas, northeast Louisiana, central Mississippi, north central Mississippi, northwest Mississippi, and west central Mississippi. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THREAT...Moderate TIMING...Today through Tonight NON-THUNDERSTORM WINDS THREAT...Elevated TIMING...Today through Tonight Significant severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are likely late this afternoon into this evening, with strong tornadoes possible. These thunderstorms could also produce damaging winds up to 70 to 80 mph and large hail up to the size of golf balls. (https://www.weather.gov/images/jan/graphicast/1.png) A few downed trees and power lines are possible this afternoon and evening, due to sustained winds of 25 to 30 mph and wind gusts over 40 mph before thunderstorms arrive. Travel may also be difficult for those in high profile vehicles.
