...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 AM CDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southern Mississippi, including the following counties, Harrison and Jackson. * WHEN...Until 1145 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 846 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Intense rain rates of 2 to 3 inches or more per hour may quickly lead to localized flooding. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs, Long Beach, St. Martin, Escatawpa, D`iberville, Latimer, Gulf Hills, Vancleave, Hickory Hills, Wade, Hurley, Big Point, Lyman and Gulfport Airport. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
