This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, piedmont
North Carolina, western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.
.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.
Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected on Thursday
afternoon and evening ahead of a cold front. Some of these storms
may become severe, with the biggest threats being damaging wind
gusts and hail up to quarter-sized. Any storms that develop will
also be capable of producing brief heavy downpours and frequent
cloud- to- ground lightning. Areas across the mountains and Blue
Ridge escarpment will receive quite a bit of rainfall through
Thursday night. Flash flooding along with major stem river flooding
will be possible.

Spotter activation may be needed on Thursday. Please relay any
information about observed severe weather to the NWS while following
all local, state, and CDC guidelines.
