.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday night through Friday
A Flash Flood Watch for portions of southwest Iowa and southeast
Nebraska on Saturday night.
Thunderstorms are expected to increase in areal coverage
Saturday afternoon and evening over southeast Nebraska and
southwest Iowa. Because a of a very slow moving boundary, there is
a chance excessive rainfall may accompany a few storms through
Saturday night, thus leading to the potential for flash flooding.
Rainfall totals from one to two inches will be possible in some
locations by early Sunday morning.
River levels along the Missouri River will continue to rise south
of Omaha. Minor flooding is expected near Omaha, with moderate
flooding occurring south of Nebraska City. Additional rainfall
Saturday night may impact river levels at Brownville and Rulo,
and future river forecasts may need to be adjusted to account for
this. Anyone with travel plans along Interstate 29 or interests
near the Missouri River should monitor the forecast closely.
Small thunderstorm chances will continue through the majority of
of time this week.
