Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected today, but they will focus over Oklahoma. A few severe storms as well as areas of heavy rainfall leading to localized flash flooding are possible. For the storms that develop, heavy rain and frequent lightning will be the greatest threats, with marginally severe hail or wind less likely. Any lingering showers should diminish during the evening.
