.NOW... At 9:07 AM...Doppler radars detected widespread showers and thunderstorms ongoing across eastern Oklahoma. These showers and storms were moving off toward the north-northeast at around 35 mph. Through 11:15 AM...Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to persist across the area. The bulk of the convection will impact eastern Oklahoma, however at times will cross over into portions of western Arkansas. Locally heavy rainfall will be the primary concern with this activity, and may lead to flash flooding for portions of northeast Oklahoma.

ONSET...This afternoon/evening. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. RISK...Limited. AREA...Mainly southeast Oklahoma. ONSET...This afternoon/evening. FLASH FLOOD. RISK...Limited. AREA...Mainly northeast Oklahoma. ONSET...Ongoing. HEAVY RAIN. RISK...Significant. AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. ONSET...Ongoing. AREA AT GREATEST RISK...Northeast Oklahoma. DISCUSSION... Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas through tonight. Heavy rain and flash flooding will the main concern across northeast Oklahoma where 1 to 5 inches of rain have already fallen over the past 24 hours. An additional 1 to 4 inches of rain will be common across all of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas through tonight with locally higher amounts possible. This could lead to flooding of low lying areas. In addition to the heavy rainfall, severe weather will also be possible this afternoon and evening across southeast Oklahoma. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main concern. However, there will be a low potential for tornadoes as well. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...No Hazards. SATURDAY THROUGH MONDAY...High Wind Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... The potential for showers and thunderstorms will continue on Wednesday as an upper level low moves across the region. These thunderstorms are expected to remain below severe levels and the potential for heavy rain will diminish on Wednesday.
