This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as much of Eastern Oklahoma. .DAY ONE...Tonight. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. RISK...Limited. AREA... Northwest AR, East-Central and Southeast OK. ONSET... Ongoing. DISCUSSION... Isolated thunderstorms remain possible tonight across eastern and southeastern Oklahoma as well as northwestern AR where a nonsevere storm located in Benton county is currently moving eastward. The best chance for thunderstorms will be in Choctaw county tonight associated with a complex of storms moving generally ENE along and south of the Red River. The latest radar imagery shows an uptick in activity across southeastern OK that will be watched closely. With that said, due to significant convective overturning from the storms earlier, the overall severe threat is low but gusty winds and hail remain possible. As for east-central Oklahoma, there is a conditional probability for strong to severe storms to form later tonight. The ingredients for strong to severe storms will be in place including a fast moving upper level short wave, remnant outflow boundaries, and dew points in the lower 70s. Any storm that does form will have the potential to be strong to severe with damaging wind gusts and small hail being the main threats. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. THURSDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. FRIDAY...High Wind Potential...Dangerous Heat Potential. SATURDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential. SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential... Heavy Rain Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Thursday will be dry across the area with thunderstorm chances returning late Thursday night into early Friday morning. Friday will see hot and muggy conditions across eastern OK and west- central AR with high temperatures in the lower 90s and heat index values nearing 100 at several locations. As for this weekend and early next week, multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will be likely across eastern OK and west-central AR in response to an upper level trough moving into the southern plains.
