...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR LOW HUMIDITY, GUSTY WINDS, AND ISOLATED DRY LIGHTNING IN NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA... * AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 038, 039, 040, 043, 044, 047, 048, AND 072. This includes Bradford, Susquehanna, Wayne, Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Pike counties. * TIMING...Through 8 PM this evening. * WINDS...Northwest 15 to 20 mph, with gusts to 25 mph, especially over the higher terrain. * HUMIDITY...As low as 25 to 30 percent. * LIGHTNING...Isolated thunderstorms with dry lightning may cause fire starts. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly.
