This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of south central
Arkansas, southwest Arkansas, north central Louisiana, northwest
Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma, east Texas and northeast Texas.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight...
Showers and isolated thunderstorms will return to the region
tonight ahead of an approaching upper level disturbance with a
surface low and trailing cold front tracking across Texas toward
the Gulf coast. Thus, a few strong storms containing small hail
cannot be ruled out. Otherwise, no hazardous weather is expected.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday...
Showers and some embedded thunderstorms will persist through the
day on Friday and into much of Friday night before diminishing
from west to east by Saturday morning with the passage of a cold
front. Some strong to marginally severe storms containing gusty
winds and hail will remain possible through Friday night, mainly
across the southwest half of the region. Cooler and drier weather
is expected for the rest of the weekend into the start of the new
work week with advancing high pressure.
