...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northwest Texas, including the following counties, Cochran, Hockley and Yoakum. * WHEN...Until 200 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1230 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the South Plains, Rolling Plains, and the far Southern Texas Panhandle. .DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight. Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will continue to develop over the South Plains this afternoon. These storms will expand in coverage and move eastward into the Rolling Plains and far southeastern Texas Panhandle by the early evening. Some storms may be strong to severe and capable of producing large hail up to baseball size, damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, and heavy downpours that could lead to localized flash flooding. A few tornadoes will also be possible especially across the South Plains. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. Chances for strong to marginally severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall continue through the weekend and into next week. Flooding will be a concern through the middle of next week with any storms that do develop. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will likely be needed.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...The South Plains, Rolling Plains, and extreme southern Texas Panhandle. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread heavy rainfall over the past several days has resulted in area soils becoming saturated. Additional heavy rainfall of 2 to 3 inches is possible this afternoon through tonight, with localized amounts in excess of 3 inches. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
