This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Deep South Texas. .DAY ONE...Rest of This Afternoon and Tonight Through sunset: Dangerous south to north longshore current with embedded rip currents will continue at the the barrier island beaches. Patchy to areas of fog may ease in from the coastline late tonight into early Saturday morning, and could become dense with visibility at or below one quarter mile in some locations. The best opportunity for fog is across the barrier island, but some could reach a bit farther inland to include Bayview, Laguna Vista, and Port Mansfield. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday Saturday: Patchy to areas of dense fog may continue through 9 or 10 AM before dissipating as slightly drier air eases into the area. Monday and Tuesday afternoon: Scattered thunderstorms will produce occasional to possibly frequent cloud to ground lightning, with a small chance for locally heavy rainfall and minor flooding of poor drainage locations in any stronger and more organized storms. Tuesday afternoon through Thursday: Elevated rip currents will increase Tuesday and could become dangerous Wednesday, with a south-to-north longshore current becoming dominant by Thursday. The currents will be life-threatening to poor swimmers or those unaware. Thursday: South winds may increase to 25 to 30 mph with gusts 40 mph or higher along the west shore of Laguna Madre, including Bayview, Laguna Vista, and Port Mansfield. Wind Advisories for the potential for difficult driving and minor damage may be required. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed.
