This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the South Plains, Rolling Plains, and the far Southern Texas Panhandle. .DAY ONE...Today and tonight. Strong southwest winds are expected this afternoon. Sustained wind speeds from 25 to 35 mph will be common across much of the region with gusts to 50 mph possible. A Wind Advisory is in effect from Noon until 8 PM for areas on the Caprock, the far southern Panhandle, and portions of the Rolling Plains. Elevated fire weather conditions are also expected today, and a Fire Danger Statement is in effect for the entire area from 10 AM until 9 PM. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. Elevated fire weather conditions are possible again Monday with very warm, breezy, and dry weather continuing. Thunderstorms, some severe with locally heavy rain, may return late Tuesday and Wednesday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation for today is not expected.
