This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of west central Texas. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight A Heat Advisory is in effect for the Big Country and Concho Valley this afternoon and early evening, as temperatures rise into to 102 to 106 range. Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are likely today, as gusty south winds combine with dry conditiions and temperatures above the 100 degree mark. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday The threat for widespread hazardous weather is low. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not anticipated at this time.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...High temperatures of 102-105 expected. * WHERE...Fisher, Nolan, Sterling, Coke, Runnels, Irion, Tom Green, Haskell, Jones and Taylor Counties. * WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
