This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight. Widespread thunderstorms are expected to impact the Panhandles this afternoon through tonight. A couple storms may be severe, potentially producing up to golf ball size hail and damaging wind gusts. Thunderstorms may also bring heavy rain and flooding. Accordingly, a Flood Watch is in effect starting at 1 PM CDT for the Texas Panhandle, save far northwestern portions. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Thursday. Thunderstorm chances continue through the weekend and and even into next week. Strong to severe thunderstorms with torrential rainfall cannot be ruled out. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not anticipated at this time.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of the Panhandle of Texas, including the following areas, Armstrong, Carson, Collingsworth, Deaf Smith, Donley, Gray, Hansford, Hemphill, Hutchinson, Lipscomb, Moore, Ochiltree, Oldham, Potter, Randall, Roberts and Wheeler Counties, including Palo Duro Canyon. * WHEN...From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An additional round of widespread showers and thunderstorms is expected this afternoon into tonight. While most areas are favored to receive around an inch of rainfall, localized areas could see more than 3 inches.
