This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Arkansas, southwest Arkansas, north central Louisiana, northwest Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma, east Texas and northeast Texas. .DAY ONE...Today and tonight. One more hot day is expected today with afternoon heat index values nearing or exceeding 100 degrees during peak heating hours. Later on tonight, scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to impact areas mainly along and north of the I-30 corridor. Some of these thunderstorms may be severe with large hail and damaging winds possible, especially after midnight into very early Sunday morning. In addition, heavy rainfall will also be possible with some of these stronger thunderstorms and could pose a localized flooding threat in these same areas of extreme northeast Texas, southeast Oklahoma, and parts of southwest Arkansas. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will continue through the remainder of this weekend and into early next week, especially by late Sunday through Monday as a cold front advances into the area. Some of this rainfall may be heavy at times, especially across the Middle Red River Valley of Northeast Texas, Southeast Oklahoma, and Southwest Arkansas in addition to the threat of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds possible. This threat should decrease farther to the south and east with a slightly less favorable environment for severe thunderstorms across Deep East Texas and much of Northern Louisiana. Slightly cooler and drier conditions are expected to return by the middle of next week. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation may be needed late tonight and again Sunday night.
