This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect for St. Mary`s County from late tonight through Saturday night. A Gale Warning is in in effect for the Chesapeake Bay and adjoining estuaries from north of Pooles Island MD to North Beach MD as well as the lower tidal Potomac River from Key Bridge to Cobb Island from this evening through Saturday night. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Calvert and St. Mary`s Counties and from North Beach to Smith Point until further notice. Gusty winds could result in isolated wind damage Saturday and Saturday night. A Wind Advisory is in effect for Anne Arundel, Southern Baltimore, and Southeast Harford Counties during the day on Saturday, mainly along the immediate shoreline. Moderate to potentially major coastal flooding is possible on some vulnerable low-lying shoreline this weekend, especially in the vicinity of southern Maryland. A Coastal Flood Watches remain in effect for most of the shoreline along the Potomac River and Western Shore south of the Bay Bridge from Saturday morning through late Saturday night. Isolated instances of flooding due to heavy rainfall are possible Saturday and Saturday night. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not expected at this time.

For the Coastal Flood Watch, up to one foot of inundation above ground level possible in low lying areas due to tidal flooding. * WHERE...Shoreline in the District of Columbia, Arlington County, and the City of Alexandria. * WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from midnight tonight to 6 AM EDT Saturday, especially around the time of high tide. For the Coastal Flood Watch, from Saturday morning through late Saturday night, especially around the time of high tide. * IMPACTS...Shoreline inundation is expected along portions of the seawall adjacent to Ohio Drive and the Hains Point Loop Road and near the Tidal Basin. Water is expected to approach the curb near the intersection of King Street and Strand Street in Alexandria. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides one and a half to two feet above normal. The next high tide at Alexandria is at 1:59 PM and 2:19 AM. The next high tide at Washington Channel is at 1:41 PM and 2:01 AM. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. &&
